This piece was a creative response to a quote from Christoph Niemann in an episode of Netflix's "Abstract: The Art of Design" ( https://youtu.be/q_k8fVNzbGU?si=6jTrHrps0ihOd7Qf&t=2575 ). "The idea of pop music," Niemann says, "is not to invent a new story, but to tell the same story again in a new and interesting way." What he goes on to say is what inspired me most - "it’s the idea of [...] actually, until now, nobody has ever gotten it right."

I decided to try and visually capture how it feels when discovering a piece of art that feels like the creator really has finally gotten it right, the experience of finding something you resonate with deeply.

This piece was more about the process getting there than the final illustration, as the class was aimed towards developing our creative practices and practice-based research. I have included several work-in-progress images that show how I got to the final project result.
